The Delhi
University north campus witnessed protests, which were led by the right-wing
students and teachers organization against anti-national activities by
"left-leaning" students.
As a protesting
action against left-leaning students "Trinaga March" was held by The
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
On the other hand, a dharna was organized by the Rashtravadi Shikshak Sangh, a
teacher's body affiliated to the RSS.
The
protestors, belonging largely to ABVP, marched from Ramjas College to the Arts
Faculty as they hold a large Tricolor Flag and shouted the slogans of 'Vande Mataram.'
The protest
marches were held as a sign of resistance against the clashing activities of
the ABVP ad left wing All India Students Association (AISA) outside Ramjas
College. AISA was trying to force the suspension of an event which was to be
addressed by Umar Khalid, who was sent to jail in 2016 for shouting anti
national slogans.
DUSU Vice
President Priyanka Chhawari said "The march is in the solidarity with
Ramjas students, who took a stand against people raising anti-national slogans
and slogans about the freedom of Kashmir on February 22."
"What
happened in JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University), we will not let it happen in
DU," Delhi University Students' Union President Amit Tanwar, who is from
the ABVP, said.
DUSU Vice

and slogans about the freedom of Kashmir on February 22."
According to
DU President of AISA, Kawalpreet Kaur, attacking everyone in the disguise of
nationalism is an old habit of ABVP and all the current turmoil in DU has
nothing to do with AISA party.
"ABVP
never respected the Tri color flag but they continue to use it as a means to
justify their senseless violence. They have done it in the past and they are
doing the same now." another person said.
