We have been regularly reading news about the job cuts in IT
& Technology sector.
Microsoft is first to hit the News Headlines. If the
insiders report are true than about 700 jobs would be cut down at Microsoft and
700 employees of Microsoft are going to be jobless ending this week.
The same is going to be announced on the 26th Jan’2017
when the company would be reporting its quarterly earnings too.
As per the reports the company is going to cut down 700 jobs
in total.
The job cuts would not be concentrated in a particular area
but is a part of updating the skills across the company.
The layoff is part of the Microsoft’s previously announced
plan of cutting 2850 jobs by the end of fiscal year 2017 which ends in June’2017.
The total planned job cut have reached up to 4 percent of
the workforce.
Under the Indian born CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft has witnessed
several rounds of layoffs, including cutting 7400 jobs in the fiscal year, majority
of which coming from the smart phone business.
Microsoft had 114,000 employees in June last year.
