A few months back, the newspapers across the country ran images to mass exam cheating in Bihar. It brought disrepute to the entire state. Bu the state is now trying to make amends to its image.
As many as 360 examinees were expelled across the state for various charges of cheating in the intermediate examination. This was the third day of the examination. Apart from the students, as many as five persons were arrested since they are impersonating as students. They were arrested from Gaya, Jehanabad, Darbhanga and Nalanda. This is as per the information given by BSEB (Bihar School Examination Board).
Most candidates were disbarred from Nawada (59) which was followed by 35 candidates from Gaya and about 19 from Patna. Of the 59 candidates expelled from Nawada, 29 were girls and were found cheating at Seth Sagar Mal Aggarwal Women college in the first sitting of Physics examination.
At this centre, the first sitting of the test has been cancelled by the board. The board has also removed 17 invigilators from their exam duty, apart from suspending them.
The intermediate examination in the state came into the national news when Arts topper Ruby Rai, the board’s topper said that her subject was ‘Prodikal Science’, in place of Political science and said that it is about cooking.
The examinations are scheduled to be concluded on 25th February.
