Dr. Manmohan Singh
He
faced a lot of criticism when he was the Prime Minister of the country but the
fact that he is highly educated and qualified is undeniable. Mr. Singh
completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Punjab University in 1952
and 1954 in Economics by securing the first position. Thereafter, he studied in
St John’s College, University of Cambridge and completed his Economics Tripos
in 1957. After completing his studies he came back to India and started
teaching in the Punjab University. In 1960, he went to the University of Oxford
and completed his doctoral degree (D.Phil)
P. Chidambaram
Former
Finance Minister and a member of the Congress party, he is a B.Sc. in
Statistics, which he did from the Presidency College, Chennai. He also
completed his Bachelors in Law from the Madras law college, which is now known
as Ambedkar Government Law College and his master’s from the Loyola College,
Chennai. Thereafter, he went on to complete his MBA from the Harvard Business
School of class 1968.
Kapil Sibal
Former
Minister of law and justice, he is also a lawyer and member of the Congress
party. He completed his schooling from the St John’s High School in Chandigarh
and went to St. Stephen’s College in Delhi. He did his LLB from the Faculty of
Law, University of Delhi and is also an MA in the history. He also went to
Harvard Law School and completed his LLM program in 1977.
Najma Heptullah
Former
Vice President of the BJP, Najma Heptullah is Minister of Minority Affairs. She
has an M.Sc degree in Zoology and did her Ph.D. in Zoology from Ujjain from the
Vikram University.
Jairam Ramesh
He is a
member of the Parliament from Andhra Pradesh and the former Minister of Rural
Development. He did his B.tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay in
1975. He also completed his M.Sc. Degree in public policy and public management
in 1977. He also got enrolled in Doctoral Program at MIT but could not complete
it due to some family emergency.
Subramaniam Swamy
A
member of BJP party, Subramaniam Swamy completed his master’s in Mathematics
from the Hindu college. He also pursued Master’s in Statistics from the Indian
Statistical Institute, Kolkata. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics in 1965 from
the Harvard University.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan
Dr.
Harsh Vardhan completed his MBBS degree from Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial
Medical College, Kanpur, 1979 and then completed his Master of Surgery in
Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) in 1983, from the same college.
Shashi Tharoor
This
former international civil servant completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in
History from St Stephen’s College. Afterwards in 1975 he moved to the US and
completed his graduate studies from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
By the age of 22, he had completed his Ph.D.
