Android development is one of the most sought after skill-sets in the IT world today. People spend years to perfect this art and still lag behind a long way. But what if we told you there is a 14 year tech genius from Shahjahanpur who is going great guns in the field of android development is winning accolades from all parts of the world? Meet Naman Tiwari, the genius we are talking about.

When asked to introduce himself, he does it without any high headedness, “I'm 14 years old and I'm developing apps since I was of 12. Along with Android Developer I'm also a Chrome Developer and I code websites too, I am also a FB Start member. So far I have developed 27 android applications.”

When a person gets associated with such a technical field at such a young age, it is usually due to his parents being from that field. However, this doesn’t stand true in this case. Naman is a first generation android developer in the family. “When I was 11 I got into a dilemma that how all these technical stuff works. So I searched many of the websites and tutorials and the desire to find answers stimulated me to develop apps. My father is a businessman and my mother an educator. Both of them are not connected with computers,” was his response when asked about how he started his journey.

Child prodigies like these aren’t completely exceptional in today’s time. But to come from a small city like Shahjahanpur with no proper resources at disposal is what makes Naman’s achievements all the more impressive.

He explains his journey as, “I will not say that it was a lot easy since in my city a lot of people are not aware about development and any kind of tutorials or classes are not available in my city, so I'm totally dependent on Internet for all my research work and learning . In starting I faced a lot of bugs and no one was available at that time to rectify them. So ultimately there were many problems in starting but for now things are getting better.”

Among all this fame and acknowledgment, what is highly impressive is his focus on the society. His most successful application, Malaria Defender is also a gift to the society only. When asked about this app of his, he told us,

“Malaria Defender is my most successful project. It's the world's first app that can check symptoms of malaria in a person. It provides you a series of questions which you have to answer in either YES or NO. Your answers are then saved and the app provides you a health report after calculating your answers through an unique algorithm. It completely works offline. Facebook selected me in its FB START BOOTSTRAP Program and provided me tools and services which worth over $30k.

My app Malaria Defender is also selected by Ashoka’s Youth Venture Programme.

After developing many apps in starting I thought to develop something for the betterment of the society and then I found that MALARIA is a widespread disease. Around 10M people get affected by it in a year only in India. Due to this reason I opt to develop an app which can check the symptoms of malaria and can help the society to fight against it.”

And he is still going strong with some other ideas in the pipeline too. “I am working on few more projects which could be helpful for the society. Currently I am working on connecting MEDICAL SCIENCE with INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. I am trying to replicate my model and to develop apps which could check symptoms of other diseases too,” he explained.

When someone this young engages in such activities, the one first that anyone has is what about the school time? We asked the same question. “Programming and development of apps consume a lot of time in a day but still I focus on studies a lot and they my priority and my parents are very much supportive and always encourage me to develop new things,” he lets us know.

Before we left us to work on this other apps, he told us what he thinks about Brainbuxa. “I feel that Brainbuxa is a great platform for conveying stories and presenting work. It's helpful for students like me and also inspires through the articles,” were his final thoughts.
