This year, XLRI, Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur's
largest batch (2014-2016) in its history,sat for placements and achieved 100
percent placement.
Around 386 offers were made for a batch of 361 students. Also, for the final process, 132 recruiters participated. Out of these 132, 36 had come to the campus for the first time.
As compared to previous years, both the median salary and average salary offered to a batch was highest i.e. Rs 18.00 lakh per annum and Rs 18.5 lakh per annum.
Infact, students received Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) during their summer internship. 84 offers were accepted out of 102.
Companies coming to the campus were ICICI Bank, Citibank, DBS, Goldman Sachs, Standard Chartered and Yes Bank, Kotak Mahindra and Karvy. Out of these, ICICI Bank made the highest number of offers i.e. 21. Kotak Mahindra and Karvy were the first-time recruiters. The roles offered were across areas including wealth management, PE, and investment banking.
Different sectors witnessed numerous offers. For instance, ITC turned out to be the biggest recruiter in the FMCG sector, while others including Asian Paints, Colgate Palmolive, GSK CH, Heinz, HCCB, ITC, Mondelez, Kellogg's, Nestle, PepsiCo, Reckitt Benckiser, and Unilever, among others, offered roles in sales and marketing and HR functions.
Industry majors such as Accenture Strategy, Capgemini Consulting, Cognizant Business Consulting, Deloitte, EY, Everest Group, Gallup, KPMG, McKinsey and Company, Peoples Business Group, Price Waterhouse Coopers, The Boston Consulting Group, Vector Consulting and Zensar offered international roles to students.
