Wall of heroes' to be inaugurated at JNU today

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will organise a function to inaugurate the 'Wall of Heroes' in the honour of martyrs on 16th May,2017 during 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm at Convention Centre of the University.

For inaugurating 'Wall of Heroes', JNU will organize a function on May 16th 2017. The 'Wall of heroes' will be in the honor of the martyrs and inauguration function will be held at the Convention center of the University between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm.

"University will pay tribute to all martyrs including Paramveer Chakra awardees, and honor their family members," said a statement from the University.


'Wall of valor ' is campaign which is jointly launched by the Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar and Minister of State for Defence Dr. Subhash Bhamre to honor and create a spirit of respect for the real heroes of the nation.

'Wall of valor ' was launched in 1000 educational institutions across the nation on May 2.


The 'Wall of Heroes' will have portraits of  Param Vir Chakra (PVC) decorated soldier, which will help in instilling the sense of nationalism among the youth of today. All this is a part of nationwide 'Vidya Veerta Abhiyan', which was initiated by the former BJP leader and former Rajya Sabha Member Tarun Vijay.

For the function at JNU, invitations have been extended to various army officials.
