The Union Government has come out with a list of top educational institutes in the country from various disciplines. Among the other well known institutes, the Hyderabad Central University has also managed to enter the list.

 Aside the current protests in the varsity following suicide by a student. On Monday, Appa rao Podile (Hyderabad central university vice-chancellor) expressed gladness over the institution being ranked among the top universities of the country and promised to carry on the best efforts.

The Faculty, Students and non-teaching staff was praised by the Podile for being ranked at number four in the country better than Delhi University.

Podile said "We are humbled by this achievement and the university will put in more achievement and the university will put in more efforts to ensure that it is recognised worldwide for its quality of teaching and research. Our alumni have played a vital role in the growth of the university and it is our responsibility to produce quality students who will be model citizens for India."

The HCU University was ranked among the best in the country in terms of 'outreach and inclusivity'. Which comprises parameters such as diversity in student community, research facilities for the different-abled and percentage of students from socially/economically backward communities.

HRD minister Smriti Irani, released the rankings in Delhi on Monday. All institutions were judged based on self-disclosure of information. In the first government backed survey, the criteria used to rank the institution included academic excellence, learning and teaching, research, practice, outreach and observation'.

The data submitted by the institutes are validated by an agency, The National Bureau of Accreditation.

To provide an Indian perspective educational ambitions and needs, the new ranking agenda has been conscripted.

By this, the institution will get help that conduct research in languages other than English and are concentrated on comprehensive education; two aspects are unnoticed by the global agencies, the statement said.
