Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra's Chief Minister said that to become centres of social innovation, universities should be emphasized to create a conducive environment. As per him, students should utilize their knowledge for bringing social change, so that universities will become centers of social innovation. He was addressing the third convocation of Gondwana University and said that gaining of knowledge is not sufficient; it needs to be put to use. He further added to his speech that the country needs youth to bring about equality and justice, also there are many such youths in the country. He asked students to use their knowledge by doing research of their problems, develop technology and innovate. He said that universities have a role to play in creating skilled manpower which will eventually help India. He concluded by saying that when population of several countries in Europe, Asia and in the US is getting older, India has a great opportunity of providing skilled manpower and human resource that will help us in emerging as a big power as India's youth population is bigger. So, universities can play an important role in creating skilled manpower.
