UGC has directed all the universities in the nation to put a notice on their notice boards in order to inform the students about the grievance redressal mechanism and the establishment of the students' grievances portal.

The universities have further been directed to ensure that the cells for the grievance redressal are being managed by a nodal officer.

The commission said in a communication to varsities "all universities and higher educational institutions have been directed (HEls) to have a notice or flex board fixed to ensure publicity/awareness of the establishment of grievance redressal mechanism and UGCʼs students grievances portal".

“This would help in effective redressal of the grievances,” it said

The nodal officer of the grievance cell will be responsible for monitoring and responding to the students' grievances lodged on the portal.

“The officers in addition to handling grievances respective university will also be responsible for handling grievances of colleges affiliated to their university and report the action taken on the portal,” the UGC said.
