NEW DELHI

Three IITs were set up During UPA 1. They are going through a lot of problems as the administration is being done by directors of other IITs

Finally the awaited appointment of directors of IITs of Ropar, Bhubaneshwar and Patna will begin from March 22 as the HRD Ministry has conveyed 37 candidates for interaction.

The search cum selection committee will be headed by HRD minister Smriti Irani.

10 candidates were selected for the three IITs. The decision was held back because one of the 10 shortlisted candidates was not the one called for the interaction with the search-cum-selection committee. 

The candidate was included later. There has also caused a rearrangement in the duties of the officers in the ministry.

To look after the details Amarjit Sinha, additional secretary in-charge of technical education has been appointed.

Two of the members are unwilling to start afresh and they expect the head of the committe, HRD Minister to take keen interest for the new selections.

Also leaving the board will accuse them of being insecure regarding their work. Explaining they have said that they don't want fresh names but they want to interact with 37 of them altogether afresh. And if the capabilities of all ten are found efficient they will continue without any troubles
