Tender of Rs 300 crore released by the IT@School project

Kerala IT@School project of state education department, now a Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education has rolled out an e-Tender for the state schools at an estimated cost of INR 300 crore.

The e-Tender is for 60,250 Laptops and 43,750 Multimedia Projectors and was published on the state's e-Tender portal which is etenders.kerala.gov.in.

KITE is a first SPV (Special purpose Vehicle) to get is funding from the Kerala Infrastructure And Investment Fund Board (KIIFB ).

K Anvar Sadath, Vice Chairman and Executive Director, KITE said "The e-Tenders published by KITE are for the ICT equipment to be provided under Hi-Tech School project".


This program cover the total of 4775 government and government aided schools which includes 2685 high schools, 1701 higher secondary schools and 389 vocational higher secondary schools.

With the implementation of this program each classroom will have laptop, multimedia projector, whiteboard and sound system and each Hi-Tech IT lab will have UPS, multi-function printers, LCD TV and a HD Camera. Specific e-security features will also be installed in the schools, he said.

“Hi-tech School programme is a holistic integration of components like capacity building, digital content, connectivity, infrastructure, resource portal & e-governance,” Anvar Sadath said.

“ICT infrastructure of this sort is only one pillar of the whole scheme and under ‘Public Education rejuvenation Mission program we are incorporating all these components together,” he said.
