It is widely acknowledged that the RTE has been one of the most revolutionary laws ever passed in the country. But equally true is the fact that it has been facing resistance of different fronts ever since its inception.

Due to technical problems, online admission schedule has been delayed by almost three weeks making it a controversial year for admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

The education department had announced the RTE admission timetable, which listed details of the entire process to be held in three phases.

Its first phase was to start from Feb 29th in which schools had to register online in the database being managed by National Informatics Centre (NIC). However, it started on Sunday and will continue till March 26. The second phase, was supposed to start on March 11, where parents had to fill up the admission forms which now will start by April. The third phase was acquiring admission which was supposed to start from April 1 but it will start from April 15th.

The official said that technical problems are being resolved and they will open up the registration process for schools on a district wise basis so that the server does not overload at all. This has become a concern for schools in
