People in Tamil Nadu are not really happy with the new education policy. Police arrested members of Revolutionary Students Youth Federation (RSYF) for allegedly criticizing the educational policy and burning the new copies of the police. They raised a protest against the policy at Gandhipuram Town Bus Stand.
Why are they against the policy?
- According to the new education policy, institutions will not be funded by the government and so students will have to pay the fee
- Also, Sanskrit has been declared mandatory in schools from Kindergarten to higher education
- Therefore, in a way, the policy goes against the economically weaker section of the society.
- The district coordinator of this organisation, Uma, was arrested with at least 20 members of the organization for burning the copies of new education policy, reported The Hindu.
Indeed, it is clear that students are not happy with the new education policy.
