The online applications for Eamcet 2015 (Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) of the The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) will be accepted from February 28 to April 9.The entrance exam will be conducted at 12 centres on May 14.The Telangana State Council of Higher Education(TSCHE) released the schedule on Friday.
A score of 25 per cent marks must be scored by the candidate to qualify the Eamcet. For candidates belonging to SC/ST there would be no minimum qualifying marks.
The ranks will be assigned by giving 75% weightage to the marks secured in the test and 25% to the marks secured in the intermediate board exam. Shailaja Ramaiyar, vice-chancellor of JNTU said the whether the candidates belong to Andhra Pradesh or Telangana Board ,the 25% weightage of the intermediate marks will be given to both.
T Papi Reddy, chairman of TSCHE said that they are planning to have centres at Kodad in Nalgonda district and Kothapet in Khamman district as well.
NV Ramana Rao, convenor of Eamcet said that the number of students that are expected to take the exam this year are 1, 80,000 from Telangana and 70,000 from Andhra Pradesh. Adding he also told that even the candidates from Andhra Pradesh are eligible to be a part of the 15 per cent seats that are reserved for students from other states. They will be welcomed if they secure top scores.
The entrance exam results will be declared on May 28.
