About The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week 2014:
The Embassy of Sweden in India in collaboration with Swedish companies, organizes a high-profile, multi-city, multi-activity annual event-Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week. Initiated in memory of Swedish innovator, philanthropist and entrepreneur, Alfred Nobel, this week celebrates the Indian Nobel Laureates as well.
The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week 2014 is the eighth edition of the week, which will be celebrated across ten cities namely, Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai & Pune from October 26 to November 1, 2014.
The qualifier round of Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz will be hosted in Pune on September 19th, 2014 at Ness Wadia College at 2pm. The occasion will be graced by Ms Fredrika Ornbrant, Consul General, Consulate General of Sweden in Mumbai, as the chief guest. The national finals will take place in New Delhi.
The team winning from Pune would qualify for the National championship here they would meet the finalists from the other cities. The big prize is an all-expense paid trip to Sweden! The final winners will get the privilege of visiting the headquarters of global Swedish companies, Swedish Universities and the Nobel Museum among other things.
The runner ups of the national finals need not lose heart as the 1st and 2nd runner-up will get a chance to visit the Swedish Aerospace giant, Saab’s stand at AERO INDIA 2015. As part of this sponsored trip, the runner ups will enjoy a one day visit to Bangalore, travel, entry fee, lunch and guided tour of the Saab stand.
The Quiz gets bigger and better this year with the following introductions:

- Weekly Quizzes and Downloadable Quizzes are up on www.justquizz.com, to be used as practice sessions.
- Students can only participate in the competition from their own city. In case the prelims are not happening in the home city, a team will be allowed to participate at the competition held at the nearest Venue. A team would get only one chance to participate in a Live Round (prelim).
This year the quiz will see Mr. Kunal Savarkar as the quizmaster. He is a mastermind semi-finalist and Content Editor for Kaun Banega Crorepati. Besides the Quiz there would be a host of other events like lectures, seminars and round tables, exhibitions and cultural performances.
This event hosted every year is an effort on the part of The Embassy of Sweden in India, along with prominent Swedish businesses, to give a boost to the image of Sweden in India by commemorating the spirit of Alfred Nobel through innovation, knowledge and creativity, Swedish contributions to the global milieu and to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
