The qualifier round of the 10-city, annual, intercollegiate quiz competition will be hosted by the Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on October 11th, 2014 at CEPT Auditorium. The competition is organised by The Embassy of Sweden and Swedish industry in India and is a part of The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week. Mr. Jan Campbell-Westlind, Consul General, Consulate General of Sweden in Mumbai will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Winners from Gujarat will compete for the National championship with finalists from the other nine cities (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune, Guwahati and Indore) to win an all-expense paid trip to Sweden, where they'll get the opportunity to visit Swedish Universities, headquarters of global Swedish companies, and the Nobel Museum among other things.
The 1st and 2nd runner-up will get a chance to win a one day,sponsored trip to Bangalore which will include travel, entry fee, lunch and guided tour of the.Swedish Aerospace giant, Saab's stand at AERO INDIA 2015.
The organizers have gone all out order to build up the momentum before the actual event through Official Quiz Trailers on www.facebook.com/swedeninindia, weekly Quizzes for practice on justquizz and greater democratization of the process by allowing students to participate only from their home turf. If prelims are not happening in the home city, only then will a team be allowed to participate in the nearest Venue City.
This year the event is all set to delight the audience and the contestants with Mr. Kunal Savarkar hosting the quiz. Mr. Savarkar is a mastermind semi-finalist and the Content Editor for Kaun Banega Crorepati.
While the Quiz is conducted mainly for students, the Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week hosts numerous other events for a wider target audience such as lectures, seminars and round tables, exhibitions and cultural performances.
The event is organized by The Embassy of Sweden in India, in collaboration with prominent Swedish business enterprises. The main objective of this event is to further boost the image of Sweden in India by commemorating the incredibly dynamic spirit of Alfred Nobel through knowledge, innovation and creativity. The event is a step towards strengthening the relations between the two countries by fostering an environment of mutual exchange and collaboration.
