On Monday, Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar announced "Swachh Campus rankings" and Haryana's Maharashi Dayanand University was named as the cleanest university and was followed by the Guru Nanak Dev University from Punjab.

Among the residential campuses of the private universities, Pune's Symbiosis international University was ranked first and was followed by OP Jindal Global University in Sonipat, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research in Belagavi and Manipal University in Jaipur.

Raipur’s ITM University was ranked as the top university among the non- residential campuses of private universities. The Northcap University in Gurugram and Dr CV Raman University in Bilaspur were ranked second and third under the same category.

Among technical institutions, the top rank was bagged by the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Coimbatore and was followed by IIT Guwahati, Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University in Bhubhaneshwar and the Indian Institute ofInformation Technology in New Delhi.
