Raghvi Vijayakumar, a student of Indian origin bagged this year’s A star talent search award for her research on genetic heart disease “hypertrophic cardiomyopathy”.

Though a student of Indian origin, she currently resides in Singapore and won the award by defeating 611 other rival students.

As a reward, she was awarded with a cash prize along with a sponsored trip to overseas conference, trophy, and certificate.

Raghvi said that it took two years of dedicated study for preparing a project on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is the most common heart disease in the world. It is a condition where the heart beats irregularly.

From next year onwards, she will be pursuing a degree in biomedical science.
