Captain and Vice-Captain of differently abled Indian Cricket Team share tips and techniques with children

Stairs, the NGO working towards sports, education and health of underprivileged children, today organized one day cricket camp for specially-abled children at Sports Stadium, Ravindra Nagar Dhoos, Padrauna, Kushinagar district, Uttar Pradesh. Over 200 differently-abled children were seen in action during the camp.
Present on the occasion was Mr. Rigzin Samphel, District Magistrate of Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh, joined by Mr. Anil Upadhyay, President, Stairs and Mr. Siddhartha Upadhyay, Founder and Secretary General, Stairs, who had come to cheer and guide children.
Ravinder Kamboj, Captain of differently abled Indian Cricket Team and Vishal Kumar Vice-Captain of differently-abled Indian Cricket Team, shared valuable tips and techniques and provided encouragement to the participating children.
The cricket camp was aimed at providing a platform where the differently abled players could showcase their talent and provide basic techniques of the sport. Stairs will open the first ever Cricket Academy for differently-abled players in Kushinagar district, where selected children will be provided facilities of coaching, training and practice.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rigzin Samphel, District Magistrate (Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh) highlighted the role of sports and urged that parents of children with special needs should encourage the spirit of sports among them, as playing enhances physical fitness, leadership skills and confidence. He said, "organizing camp for differently-abled children is a noble gesture. The special cricket camp organized by Stairs is the beginning of more such collaborative ventures and we promise full support in organizing any such events in the future.
Mr. Anil Upadhyay, President Stairs said, "It is for the first time that cricket camp for specially abled children is organised in Kushinagar district. The response to the camp as evident from the turnout is overwhelming. The aim of the camp is to spot talent among specially-abled children, and provide them with facilities like training and infrastructure. We feel that immense amount of talent exists among these children, and we believe in tapping and nurturing this talent by creating ample opportunities for them."
"Participation in sports gives the special kids an opportunity to build their level of confidence, thereby boosting their all-round development. The cricket camp is a step towards recognizing their true potential and nurturing it. Stairs will be organizing similar camps across the country", said Mr. Siddhartha Upadhyay, the Founder and Secretary General of Stairs.
Some of the students who have been identified by Stairs are already doing well at the national level and are earning laurels for their states. Stairs also organizes sports camps at regular intervals to promote youth talent.
