Skill center at Guwahati to be established by the Government of Singapore

It was also stated that the MoU has already been formalized and the center will began its functioning by 2019.

The government of Singapore has shown interest in the opening a skill center at the Guwahati and will set up the same very soon. The center will be used to cater the entire North-East region.

Areas of interest

The Indian side was led by Dr Jitendra Singh and consisted of senior officers from the Ministry of DoNER, Department of Space and Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions and these are the same areas in which Singapore has shown interest in collaborating with the India.

It was also stated that the MoU has already been formalized and the center will began its functioning by 2019.

The delegation from the Singapore also expressed its interest in collaborating with the India in the area of Space Technology under "peaceful uses of Outer Space". To this, Dr Jitendra Singh said that India is also interested in the same and will follow the matter in appropriate manner.


Singapore is also seeking the experience and expertise of the India's Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions to add more value in the Singapore's public administration and governance.

Dr Jitendra Singh said "India and Singapore have always been favorably inclined towards each other and referred to the recent visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore when a stimulating lecture by him was organized under the auspices of the NITI Aayog".
