Secondary school exams would begin in Kashmir from today. More than one lakh student would take the exam.

Zahoor Ahmad Chatt , Chairman of the Jammu & Kashmir Board of Secondary Education (BOSE) told the reporters that “Come Monday and more than one lakh students will take the secondary school examinations”.

“Over 45,000 students would take the senior secondary examinations across the state, which will begin in the morning at 484 centers”, he added.

The secondary examinations would begin from Tuesday and which will have strength of over 55,000 students.

It may be recalled that the schools have remained closed in Kashmir since July 9th 2016. BOSE has allowed a 50% cut in the syllabus for the students so that they can appear in the examinations.

“Special security arrangements have been made in all the schools”, said the Director.

Many schools have been burnt in the valley in last 2 months.

The state government has received threats from various separatists groups for re-opening of the schools.
