After the consent of UP's CM Yogi Adityanath, thousands of schoolbags will now be distributed in the schools with the image of his predecessor, Akhilesh Yadav, on them. Officials said "this extraordinary decision is driven by financial prudence as Adityanath didn't want the waste of public money just for political ego."
According to the reports, 44 year old Chef Minister (Akhilesh Yadav) had wished for the students to receive the school bags before the new session and for this around 35,000 bags were printed before he lost election in Uttar Pradesh. According to the sources once these bags are distributed, the new batch will be called wither 'Uttar Pradesh Yojna' or 'Mukhya Mantri Yojna'. Adityanath had decide that schemes will no longer be named after the person's name.
Other schemes
Recently, in Uttar Pradesh a deluge of schemes were launched and all have the prefix 'Samajwadi' and the images of UP's former CM were liberally used on them. Some examples are Samajwadi Smartphone scheme, Samajwadi Namak (fortified salt) scheme with the image of Akhilesh Yadav on the salt packet.
Financial implications
Officials from the Adityanath party said "Yogi Adityanath weighed the financial implications and decided not to waste the "Akhilesh Yadav bags". But the Samajwadi Party says Yogi Adityanath's gesture has been hugely overrated." Samajwadi leaders told after Akhilesh Yadav came to power he ordered to protect all the parks which were set up by her predecessor Mayawati.
