As banking sector is now slowly trying to open up more good avenues for all female candidates every year and the female candidates are joining as officer and clerical level posts at the all nationalised banks across the country including SBI. The State Bank of India (SBI) is now checking out plans, for offering female employees work from home. It is a facility in which employees are offered to be employed at home. This is an option to work from home and is being planned to retain the withholding of women staff.

The State Bank of India (SBI) is finding out plans to bring smiles on all women's faces, related to offering work from home as an option to all its female employees. The bank firstly will keep a check about the technological feasibility if it can allow women employees to work from home for some of its functions. Around 45,000 women are currently working with the SBI, and this particular decision has been taken so that SBI can retain women staff.
According to some reports like Prepsure, this option to work from home is actually being planned to have the retention of women staff in the bank. Earlier, this type of activity was started by ICICI to make it easy for women and to manage each and both home as well as their job.
On March 2016, International Women's Day, Chanda Kochhar, the managing director and chief executive officer of ICICI Bank had launched 'iWork@home' option for women employees and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi is also contributing in developing the technology platform for the ICICI Bank.
