The most prominent nationalized bank, State Bank of India (SBI) broadcasts to recruit 7000 people in the present economic year. The count includes 2000 probationary officers and 5000 clerks. This enrolment is supposed to quench the necessity for branch enlargements and the regular necessities of the bank.

The bank prepares to launch 700 new branches, raising the total count above 17000. In the same year, 100 new branches had already been established and the remaining ones are due to be inaugurating these coming months. Taking into consideration this current trend of market competition and heavy customer demands, the bank has concluded to enlarge branches and formulate diverse channels.

SBI tops the list of maximum employee count in the Banking Sector. Presently, SBI has around 2 lakhs employees, out of which 45,000 are female and 2500 are physically disabled. A latest news from SBI sources suggests that SBI is soon to announce an e-wallet facility locally named 'Batua' for smartphone users in India. It is devised to offer multi-lingual app option for feature handsets. SBI proudly declares Batua, a first app of its kind that eases fund transfer, utility payments and ticket booking facilities.

SBI had conducted online examination to fill 2393 vacant posts of probationary officers on 26th July this year.
