Government has started reforming the education industry as
the Delhi government announced to send school teachers and principals to
reputed foreign institutions for training. This would improve the teaching
quality in government schools.
According to Education Minister Manish Sisodia, teachers will be trained in some of the best institutions like IITs, IIMs so that they feel that government is investing in their training. They will be trained in a way similar to as teachers in the best schools of the world are trained. They can also be sent to foreign universities.
Sisodia further added that teacher is a leader for 40 children and so this becomes important for his/her training. Also, currently, they (government school teachers at the State Council Educational Research and Training) are only attending seminars.
Last year the government focused on improving the infrastructure of government schools but this year its main focus will be improving the educational quality in Delhi government schools via teacher training, confirmed the education minister.
This teacher training will not only be outgoing but incoming as well i.e. foreign teachers would come to Delhi and teachers and principals from government schools will go abroad.
Sisodia said that he will consider him being an MLA as a success only when 23 government schools in Patparganj would become better than the private schools.
