All necessary arrangements for the warm welcome of President Shri Pranab Mukherjee and President Shri Hamid Karzai at LPU's 3rd Convocation on 20th May 2013 have been made under best deftness and designing. The day is to be remembered as historic moment when two presidents of great nations, India and Afghanistan, will address thousands of LPU's graduating students from the same dais. LPU architects have designed the addressing podium as per the design of UN Assembly, where US President addresses all the nations. In addition to this, huge arrangements are also made for landing of seven choppers inside the campus itself.

LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal also informed that an advance team from Afghanistan has already reached LPU Campus to take all important information in relation to the visit of President Shri Karzai. Illustrative, Honoris Causa Degree has been specially designed and published which would be signed personally by the authorities of the University including Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal. This is first ever Honorary Doctorate Degree to be given by the University, and it is a great honour that it is being conferred on the President of a country.

A large number of security persons from different departments have been deployed inside and around the campus for security and safety purposes. Seeing the hot weather, 16 air-conditioners have also been installed on the stage.
