In Kendriya Vidyalayas for the members of the Parliament,
the number of seats under special dispensation quota has been increased from
six to ten. This announcement was made recently.
However the decision was made at the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan's 103rd Board of Governors meeting on October 30, 2015
It is basically on the recommendation of the Members of Parliament that the seats were enhanced or increased under this quota approved by the BOG.
The enhancement will be effected from the next academic session which is 2016-17 (under Special Dispensation Scheme).
Due to this announcement, now each MP can refer ten cases for admission in an academic year but such recommendations shall be confined to children whose parents belong to her/ his constituency either by domicile (i.e. state) or on account of having been posted soon-before or else migrate to her/ his constituency on account of exigencies of service, under special dispensation quota scheme. The recommendations would be basically for admissions in KVs located in her/ his constituency only. This will provide great benefits.
In cases where there is no KV under a MP (Lok Sabha) or in case where KV located in the state of the MP does not have the required class/ stream in which the recommendation for admission is to be made, then she/ he can recommend the case(s) in KV(s) located in any neighboring contiguous constituency.
The state from where the member has been elected will be considered as her/ his constituency by default (for Members of Rajya Sabha). Recommendation can be made for 10 cases for admission in any one or more KV(s) of the country by the nominated members of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.
The recommendations can be made by members for all classes except pre-primary and classes X and XII and admissions will be made over and above the existing class strength.
