PVR Nest has just bagged the renowned Aaj Tak Care Awards for CineArt in the 'Education' category. The award was presented at a ceremony held at The Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi on 6th June 2012. Mrs. Selena Bijli, Trustee- PVR Nest was felicitated with Aaj Tak Care award for the Excellence in CSR.
The award aims to amplify and publicize the efforts taken by the corporate sector for working towards inclusive and sustainable development with a "society-centered" purpose. PVR Nest, the CSR arm of PVR Ltd., was recognized for introducing a path-breaking and innovative medium of educating children through the medium of Cinema and Art under the aegis of its program CineArt. The program CineArt, has been successfully implemented as the only program which has reached out to more than 1, 00,000 children from 250 schools at Delhi, NCR and Mumbai in a span of 4 years, and has been able to bring about a perceptible change in the mindsets of children.
On winning the award, Mrs. Selena Bijli said, "It is an extremely proud moment for us at PVR to win this award. It is always encouraging to get appreciation for your work and feel motivated to contribute to the growth of the society. The program CineArt has always been close to our heart and we take pride to have trained more than 1,500 children as young film makers who will eventually become the leaders of tomorrow. We are grateful to the jury members for recognizing our efforts and felicitating us with the award for our contribution."
The award comprises various categories like Education, Healthcare, Livelihood, Environment and Empowerment. The list of nominees in the Education sector included names like Amway.
The jury panel for the award comprised of eminent people like Gurcharan Das (Author & Management Consultant), Prof. Dipankar Gupta (Noted Sociologist), and Dr. Sandeep Pandey (renowned Social Activitist) among other noted names.
