Schools in Kashmir have been closed for a long period of time, owing to separatist-sponsored strike in Kashmir. Our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi is really worried about the situation hence the state police have been asked by the Centre to prepare an action plan for providing schools with adequate security.
Official sources reported that PM Modi is really concerned about the fact that the situation is adversely affecting thousands of students whose education is suffering. He feels that the reopening of schools would serve as a brilliant step towards restoring normal conditions in Kashmir.
The Home Ministry has been asked by the PM to explore ways to get the schools and colleges in Kashmir reopened at the earliest
The Home Ministry has also discussed this issue with Jammu and Kashmir government and is believed to have convinced the state board of school education to notify more than 500 schools to conduct regular examinations
Class 10 exams will start from 15th November and end on 28th, while class 12 exams will start from 14th November and end on 3rd December.
Since July 9, after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant commander Burhan Wani, the educational institutions in the valley have been closed due to strike call given by separatists.
Over 20 schools have been burnt down in various parts of the Valley and this has got the Centre really worried.
According to source, security forces have assessed that radical forces are trying to force children in rural areas to join madrasas or Jamaat schools instead of seeking modern education so that it becomes easier to radicalise the youth.
