According to the reports, the government of Rajasthan has proposed a three-year diploma course in petroleum engineering at the Government Polytechnic College in Jodhpur and is also considering the possibility of setting up a petroleum university in the state.

Replying to a question during the Question hour, Minister of State for the technical education Subhash Garg said that the government is also considering revision of syllabus and introducing courses in mechatronics engineering and automobile design in polytechnic colleges.

He further said that the government will open new polytechnic colleges for the women at the district level which will provide quality education.The government has also introduced a choice-based credit system in Rajasthan Technical University, Kota from 2017-18 session.

The minister also said that the government’s MoUs with various educational institutes have helped the students in starting 13 start-ups in the last few years.
