With regards to National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) parliament made an important decision giving approval to two important bills. Once these bills are passed, from the next year the admission to medical and dental courses will be done through single entrance exam all over the country. Government further added that NEET is specially designed to curb the corruption in the examinations so that more transparency can be brought to the process. It also aims at stopping the exploitation of students in counseling.

Health minister JP Nada while addressing the issues of some members that the new process will favor the private institutions said the following:
1.Under the new system, exams to private colleges will also be conducted under NEET
2.National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is intended to check multiplicity of exams, to bring transparency to curb corruption and to stop the exploitation of students during counseling.
3.Earlier, students would have to travel long distances to appear for several medical entrance examinations but the new legislation will bring this to an end.
4.The exam will be held on the basis of NCERT syllabus and the under-graduate exam will be taken up by CBSE and post-graduation by the national board of examination.
5.The health ministry has written to all the states seeking details about the number of students who appeared in local languages in the last three years so that the Centre can make plans accordingly.
6."In the syllabus, we bring parity. Concerns of the state governments will be addressed. We will do standardization of syllabus so that rural students can also be taken care of," said the minister.
