Defense Research and Development Organization(DRDO) has signed a pact with the nation's prestigious, IIT Bombay and Madras for the establishment of the Centre of Propulsion Technology (CoPT).
The main objective behind the establishment of these propulsion centers is that they will ease the evolved mechanisms and will also succeed in channelizing the research efforts towards the successful development of products of relevant technology and other critical aerospace technologies. On Saturday, Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed for this pact in the presence of DG DRDO S Christopher, IIT Bombay Director Prof Devang Khakhar and IIT-Madras Director Prof B Ramamurthi and other officials.
In the release, various techniques and technologies on which the propulsion centers will be a focus on includes: futuristic aero engines, Hypersonic propulsion for long duration flights, solid propellant combustion modelling, and morphing aircraft technologies. The Centre of Propulsion Technology' (CoPT) will also take initiatives in collaboration with other research organizations for further development.
On this project, S Christopher said, "The construction of this center will attract talent to the field of research in propulsion technologies. The faculty members of these prestigious IITs that collaborate with DRDO will go the extra mile in supporting the venture."
This venture will benefit the nation as more development in propulsion technologies will be witnessed. For more such information, take a halt here at Brainbuxa.
