VIJAYAWADA: Counselling for medical seats is one of the most stressful times for any student. The low number of seats throughout the country make is extremely tough for the students to get their preferred seat in the counselling.
G Anuradha, who is the registrar of the University, said that NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) will conduct online web counselling for admissions of candidates into PG medical (degree and diploma) courses in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states after the verification of required certificate and documents of eligible candidates from April 22 to 24 and April 24 to 26 respectively.
The helpline centres are at
- NTR UHS in Vijayawada
- AU school of distance education in Vishakhapatnam
- SV university campus in Tirupati
- JNTU campus in Hyderabad for AP students, University.
- Officials arranged verification centres in JNTU, Hyderabad and Warangal (Kakatiya university campus) for Telangana students.
The candidates can select their options for the courses from April 23 to 26 for AP colleges and for Telangana colleges from April 25 to 28. The candidates will be informed through SMS on the allotment of the seats, on April 27 for AP candidates and April 29 for Telangana candidates, said Registrar. Anuradha said, "Selected students have to join the colleges allotted to them by May 2."
In the government and private medical colleges of AP and Telangana, 2,587 PG seats are available out of which 1,905 are in the convenor's quota and 682 in private medical colleges, said university's vice-chancellor T Ravi Raju, at a recent press meet in Vishakhapatnam.
He also said, "In the convenor's quota, the number of seats for in-service candidates is 699 and the rest are in non-service category.Admissions into Siddhartha medical college in Vijayawada would be done on state-wide basis and the 61 seats will be distributed among the AU, OU and SVU areas in 42:36:22 proportion. The number of seats divide among the AU, OU and SVU areas is 941, 1114, and 475 respectively.
The registrar said that candidates can visit university's website to participate in the Web counselling and to get details.
