Under the RTE a total of 311 nursery seats and class 1 seats are available.
Online admission of 25 percent quota under the Right to Education Act of the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has started.
For the 'disadvantaged' category, 1200 seats will be allotted for the academic year 2015-16.The Mira-Bhayander region has 67 private schools and the students residing between 1 to 3 kms of the schools will seek admission for nursery and class 1 admission.
For a 20 per cent water and property tax rebate by the municipality, the schools had to reserve seats for the students from poor financial background.
The schools even after receiving the rebates did not give admission to such students.
However under the RTE the schools are under an obligation to admit poor students without any charges. Also the civic education department will check on the schools that deny admission to such students.
