Hyderabad, India
The schools play a major part in shaping the future of the children.Children learn and follow the different methods that is helping in the difficult phases of their lives by gaining knowledge related to different aspects of life rather than the bookish language.Today the educational pattern of the schools is changing. Now they want children to learn competitive skills & run everlasting. Different type of subjects are taught in the schools but the Financial Intelligence is new to the league, which is amazing !!! Very few schools in India have the Financial Intelligence as a subject of study and the matter of the welcoming.
Oakridge is the first school of Bangalore who considered Financial Intelligence as a subject matter for the students to study 6th on wards in the academic year 2014-15. It covers the Oakridge campuses in- Hyderabad, Bangalore, Vishakhapatnam and the Chandigarh. Oakridge International School is the centre of excellence in education. Mr. Arjun Rao, Principal, Oakridge Bangalore Campus, who is also spearheading the Financial Intelligence classes in his campus, says, "The FI curriculum starts from Grade 6 on wards and will be advancing with more topics and activities for the subsequent classes. For classes 7th, 8th and 9th the curriculum includes the basics. Now, a student of the grade 8th can easily understand how money is distributed in the economy. He can also gather information about inflation and will be able to calculate the educational loan by himself.
Ms. Boney Rao, Head Mistress, Oakridge Bengaluru campus, opines that Financial Intelligence as a trait is the need of hour among the millennium children. The aim of the curriculum is to create an essential trait of money appreciation, understand the money flow, savings, how economy works and the longer goal is to build the entrepreneurship qualities among the children.
