It seems that nobody seems to take Delhi government
seriously, as over 80 private schools haven't yet notified about their criteria
for nursery admissions. They will begin from Thursday and despite several
warnings from government, there is nothing to be heard.
The facts prove it right as out of 1737 private schools, 88 haven't come up yet about their criteria for nursery admissions. Three deadlines have passed and department already warned them of strict action.
All the recognized schools were asked by Directorate of education to adopt and build criteria for admission of nursery and it needs to be clear, well defined, equitable, non-discriminatory, unambiguous and transparent.
The criteria for admissions to entry level classes are not for those who belong to economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups. The schools had to upload the criteria at directorate's website by December 20 for session 2016-17.
However, the DoE has having a tough time as 1300 schools failed to meet the deadline, it issued a notice. It said that if by December 25, if directive was not complied, then strict action will be taken against schools. The deadline had to be extended to December 31.
Delhi schools will start the admission procedures of nursery from January 1 and end on March 31.
Parents can submit their applications till January 22. The first list of admissions will be out on February 15 with the second list to be out on February 29.
Same schedule will be followed for admissions to those under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Disadvantaged Group (DG) categories.
