The online registrations for the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) have begun and the exam is scheduled on June 1, 2019. The exam is held to determine the eligibility of the candidates for admission in NISER Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS).
The exam will be held in online mode and students qualifying the exams will be eligible for the 5 year integrated MSc programs, at the autonomous institutions under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam must score minimum 60 percent in class 12 board exams.
Upon successfully clearing the exam, the candidates will be eligible for a five year integrated MSc program in basic sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Fr 2019-24 sessions, there are 249 open seats for the admissions of which 202 are in NISER.
NEST will be held at 91 center and candidates will have the option of choosing 5 test centers which suits them the best. Admit cards for the exam will be released on April 24.
Enrolled candidates will get an annual scholarship of INR 60,000 along with the 20,000 per annum for the summer internship.
