A new judgment has been passed by the court wherein it
ordered the Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) and Uttar Pradesh Public
Service Commission (UPPSC) to reveal the answer sheets and final interview
marks of candidates, if required. This is to maintain fairness; also students
can assess their performance better if answer sheets and interview marks are
revealed. Supreme Court further added that it will modify judgment only to
extent that the respondents-applicants are not entitled to the disclosure of
names of the examiners as sought for by them.
Supreme court was reviewing the decision made by the Kerala high court and Allahabad high court where in the high courts ruled that candidates are entitled not only to get their scanned copies of the answer sheet and interview marks but also the names of the examiners who have evaluated the answer sheet. It said that there was no point in reasoning given by both the high courts.
It further said that revealing name of the examiner may lead to revenge among the candidate who is not satisfied with the marks. It said that the public service commissions are bound to reveal all information except the identity of the test evaluator.
