Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami announced the monetary assistance of INR 1000 along with the train fare for the aspirants who had to travel to other states for their exam.

He said that these students and one attended will be compensated for second class train fare along with the assistance of INR 1000.

Due to the failure of the NEET authorities to allocate sufficient centers in the state that these students were allocated centers in the states of Kerala, Karnataka and some were allocated the centers in the Rajasthan state.

The CM said that students can avail these benefits from the district Chief Education Officer through their school before or after writing the NEET exam.

The state government took the move after the opposition demanded that state bear the traveling expenses of the candidates who are forced to write their exams in other states.

“Tamil Nadu government should bear the air travel and lodging expenditure of the students if it could not get the Union government to allocate centers within the state for students,” PMK leader said.
