Nearly 10 lakh students would avail the benefits from 2017-18 to 2019-20, with the government bearing about Rs 2,200 crore per year towards interest costs on education loans."

From 2009 to 2014, the government has spent 800 crore per year under the scheme. This amount was increased to 1800 crore per year from 2017 to 2014, he added.
