Mumbai University officials involved in the assessment of the answer sheets have taken a stand against the allegations imposed by the Sanjay Deshmukh, Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University.

Sanjay has alleged that for personal profit, some people from university are involved in malpractices and mixed the answer sheets of the students on purpose.

These allegations were made by the Sanjay in a show-cause notice issued by the Governor and MU Chancellor Ch Vidyasagar Rao.

With all the mismanagement in declaring the results, Vice-chancellor Sanjy Deskmukh is on forced leave now.

Sanjay said "papers were mixed up either at the college level or at the Exam House center facilitating the centralized admission process (CAP)."
However, other officials from the university said that all the allegations are baseless.

“The entire process of collecting, packing and sending the answer sheets to the CAP center was the same as every year. Moreover, teachers and principals were welcoming the move. Why will anyone want to sabotage the system,” said the principal of a suburban college.

“There is a delay in results simply because the new system was implemented without proper planning,” she said.

CAP center officials to agree to the fact that in the absence of proper planning the results of students suffered a major delay this year.

Another senior official from the exam house made it clear that the mishap occurred not because the answer sheets were mixed up but because, data during the exams was not captured properly as there was more than one agency doing the same.

“These problems were not anticipated while implementing the new system and hence the university was caught unawares,” said the official.
