More than 1.5 lakh candidates to appear for the JNUEE

JNU Entrance Exam (JNUEE) is scheduled to be held between December 23 and 27 and this year, more than 1.5 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam, the university said in a statement.

Currently through the entrance exam, the university is offering 720 seats for M Phil/ PhD courses, 459 for BA programs and 1,118 seats for MA, MSc, MTech and MPH courses.

Earlier, in May this year the university authority had announced that it would conduct the entrance exam in December instead of conducting them around the usual period of May and June.


The proposal to shift the entrance exam to the month of December was put forward at a meeting of the university's Academic Council (AC). Until approval, it was on hold as the AC was studying the feasibility of the proposal.

“The university has earmarked 81 examination centers in various cities and towns encompassing all the states and union territories of the country and another center in Kathmandu,” JNU Rector Chintamani Mahapatra, said in the statement.
