The 10th convocation of the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) was held.

The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed the event saying that the political interference is hindering the education system of our country.

He expressed that his government will not interfere in the education system of the country and also resources will be provided to the educational institutions.

If the institutes want amendments in the laws or provisions they can approach the government but the government won't interfere in the functioning o the institutes. The AAP government will provide all the required assistance to the educational institutes. Also handing over a "blank cheque" to the Vice Chancellor he told him to prepare a draft of the institution such that it can be among the top 100 universities in the world.

The Vice President Hamid Ansari also attended the function. He advocated the research in the country informing that of all the students enrolled in higher education only 1 per cent pursue research.

The country lack research activities. He informed that the students pursuing PhD in our country are just a small number of the total share of the world.

In 2012 the country had only a share of only 3.6 per compared to more than 14 per cent of China.
The research work must be encouraged ensuring that the R&D productivity is lower. The facilities built must be publicly funded and privately managed which will help the researchers. The Research and Development of the country must gallop.
