On March 5, a notification was released by the Joint registrar admissions M K Pachauri which said that VC has formed a committee which will look into the feasibility of conducting the JNUEE 2019-20 in an online mode.

"The committee shall examine various dimensions and submit the recommendation to the competent authority at the earliest," the notification read.

One of the members of 12 members committee is Professor Bindu Puri who confirmed the same news and said the committee is still to hold its first meeting about the suggestion.

The recently formed committee is opposed by former JNUSU general secretary Satarupa Chakraborty for the committee has no representative from the university's teachers' association (JNUTA) and students union (JNUSU).

"The committee that is constituted to make JNU entrance online doesn't have any representative from JNUSU and JNUTA," he said.

Professor Deepak Gaur is the chairperson of the committee and Communication & Information Services (CIS) director Sanjeev Kumar is the member secretary in the committee.
