Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) has declined to affiliate 83 engineering colleges which is a matter of serious concern for the quality of education which is being provided to the students in such colleges.

N. Yadaiah, Registrar, JNTU-H said that the university had received many complaints about the colleges.  "We have placed about 30 to 35 colleges in pending list for various reasons. As many as 10 colleges have no principal and once the appointment is done, we will grant affiliation to them. We have received complaints against several colleges and are considering to conduct a surprise inspection. If the functioning of colleges is found satisfied we will give affiliation. Colleges without principals were given 10 days time for appointment. So, in all means, we would announce the fate of these colleges before the second phase of counseling," said Yadaiah. On the query that if any major college has been denied affiliation, "No major colleges have been denied affiliation completely. Maybe, a branch or two of a group were denied affiliation. The complete list will be uploaded on the website soon and will be available to everyone so that students can opt for the right colleges," the registrar said.

"Although the numbers of seats will go down drastically, it won't have a major impact as the number of students who appeared for certificate verification is less than the number of seats which are available now. In the state, as many as 1.03 lakhs engineering aspirants have cleared TS Eamcet this year, of which 63,777 students appeared for certificate verification. The counseling commenced on June 22 and the final phase of allotment of seats will be conducted on July 30. Classes will commence on August 2, 2016," he said concluding the matter.

The government is constantly working on improving the quality of education in the country, this news a major blow to the students of the states and also the nation who wish to study in such colleges. For more such news across the nation, take a halt at Brainbuxa.
