Recently formed national examination body, National Testing Agency, is all functioning and will conduct JEE Mains in 2019 on the bi-annual basis. The schedule of the JEE Mains 2019 was released by the HRD ministry yesterday. The first exam will be held in January 2019 and the second exam in April. The detailed information is yet to be released about the exam but can be expected soon.
JEE Main is conducted as an exam to determine the eligibility of the candidates for admission into engineering courses. The exam also acts as a screening exam for the JEE Advanced exam through which candidates gets admissions into premium engineering institutions such as IITs and NITs of the nation.
According to the latest updates. The JEE Mains exam will be conducted in 8 different shifts and students can choose any one of the shift to attend JEE Main 2019 exam.
Yesterday, Prakash Javadekar also told the reporters that NTA has started its operations and will begin to conduct the entrance exams for the higher education institutions from the next academic session. These exams include National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), UGC National Eligibility Test (NET), Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) and Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT).

JEE Mains dates for January
- Online submission of application forms: September 1, 2018, to September 30, 2018
- Dates of examination: Between January 6, 2019, to January 20, 2019
- Declaration of results: First week of February 2019
JEE Mains dates for April
- Online submission of application forms: Second week of February 2019
- Dates of examination: Between April 7, 2019, to April 21, 2019
From 2019 onwards, JEE Mains will be conducted in online mode only and the exam will use high secured IT software and encryption to prevent malpractices during the exam.
