JEE Advanced 2018: 4000 more candidates to be eligible for the exam from next year

The organizing committee for JEE Advanced 2018, IIT Kanpur, has been making several updates and announcements about the JEE Advanced exam which is due next year. The latest announcement in a number of announcements is the increase in the number of candidates who would be able to appear for the 2018 exam.

The number of candidates who will sit in the upcoming JEE advanced 2018 exam have been increased to 2,24,000.


For the JEE 2017 exam, the cap on the maximum limit was 2,20,000 candidates.

JEE Advanced exam is conducted for determining the candidate's eligibility for getting admission to Bachelor's, Integrated Master's and Dual Degree programs in all the IITs.

In order to sit for the JEE advanced exam, candidates first have to appear for the JEE Mains exam and a certain number of these candidates are considered qualified for the JEE Advanced exam.

In 2017, 2,20,000 candidates were considered qualified for appearing in the JEE advanced exam. In the upcoming JEE Advanced exam of 2018, 4000 more candidates will be eligible to sit in the exam.
JEE Advanced 2018 exam is scheduled for the May 20, 2018 and will be a computer based test. The exam will consist of Paper 1 and Paper 2 and each exam will be three hour duration.
