Jamia Millia Islamia University signed an MOU with the army which will help the army personnel to take up graduate and post-graduate programs at the university through distant education.
To facilitate the courses, MOU was signed by the Vice-Chancellor Talat Ahmad and Adjutant General, Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence, Lt. Gen. Ashwani Kumar.
Kumar said that army personnel join the force at an early age and retires early, often in their 30s. Hence, it is important to provide them the opportunity to complete their education so that they can find the job later.
Ahmad said that this opportunity will help the army personnel to complete their studies which will them in improving their career prospect. “It is a matter of proud privilege for the university to be able to serve all the three forces,” he said.
