Chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed addressed the special convocation in the university of Kashmir. Here CNR Rao, the eminent internationally acclaimed scientific researcher who was awarded the Bharat Ratna, was honoured. Rao has made significant contributions in the field of chemistry. He has also propagated the need for higher education in India as well abroad. The chief minister wishing Rao also thanked him for accepting the degree from the University of Kashmir in Doctor of Science (HonorisCausa).
The CM, also Pro-Chancellor of the University of Kashmir the expressed his vision to make J & K the knowledge capital of the country and conveyed that efforts will taken so that the education sector in J & K revamped. Admiring his state he said that it has all what it takes to be an elite knowledge society and hence he dreams to make the state university to rank high with large number of people seek admissions from India and abroad.
Acknowledging the great knowledge the university imparts he said the state elevates the research in science. He underlined the earnest need of improving the standards and quality of higher education in the state.
The knowledge temper can be cultivated in the students by the knowledge imparted by the universities and other institutes of higher.
He advocated that one should be passionate for research and said the longings helps in revealing the talents of the students. He expressed the need for quality education from the primary school level
To him the most precious asset is the Human Resource. Encouraging the people he said that only through education and reforms the difficulties can be sorted. The schools must appeal the children and their parents through quality education.
Confident with the Human Resource he has, he anticipates more research and devotion among the faculty members and students.
